WhiteBIT Exchange Review: Europe’s Largest Crypto Exchange by Traffic — Low Futures Fees Meet AAA-Rated Security (2026)

WhiteBIT is a European cryptocurrency exchange offering 340+ listed coins, 780+ trading pairs, spot and futures trading with up to 100x leverage, and some of the lowest futures fees in the industry (0.01% maker / 0.035% taker). This WhiteBIT Exchange Review is based on hands-on testing by the AffMiss derivatives team — I created an account, deposited EUR via SEPA, traded spot and futures, tested the Earn program, and withdrew funds to evaluate whether WhiteBIT delivers on its European compliance promise.

Founded in 2018 by Volodymyr Nosov and headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, WhiteBIT has grown into the largest European crypto exchange by website traffic, serving over 8 million users across 150+ countries. The exchange is part of the WhiteBIT Group ecosystem (35 million global users), which includes Whitepay (crypto payment processing), WhiteBIT Coin (WBT), and Whitechain (EVM-compatible blockchain). WhiteBIT is an official partner of FC Barcelona and FC Juventus, and holds regulatory licenses across multiple EU jurisdictions.

Below, I’ll cover what WhiteBIT offers, how its fees compare, what makes its security stand out, and who benefits most from using this platform.

How I Tested WhiteBIT

I tested WhiteBIT over a 10-day period in February 2026.

Account Setup: Registration via email took under 2 minutes. KYC verification (passport + selfie) completed in approximately 10 minutes. WhiteBIT requires KYC for fiat deposits, trading, and withdrawals — no anonymous trading option available.

Deposits: I deposited €200 via SEPA bank transfer — credited in approximately 6 hours (within the same business day). I also tested a card deposit of €50 via Visa — instant but with a 2.5% processing fee. Crypto deposit (100 USDT TRC-20) was credited in under 3 minutes with zero fees.

Spot Trading: I executed trades on BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, and SOL/USDT. The flat 0.1% maker/taker fee applied as advertised. Order execution was fast on major pairs. The TradingView-integrated charting is excellent — same quality as Bybit or Binance. Liquidity on BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT was adequate for retail orders. Smaller altcoin pairs had thinner books but better than CoinEx.

Futures Trading: I opened a 20x leveraged BTC/USDT perpetual position using a limit order. The maker fee was 0.01% — confirmed as one of the lowest in the industry, matching MEXC (0%) more closely than Binance (0.02%). Taker fee was 0.035%. Over 204+ futures contracts are available. Execution was smooth with no noticeable slippage on BTC.

Earn Program (Crypto Lending): I tested the Flex Plan by depositing 50 USDT. Earnings were credited hourly. The displayed APR for USDT was approximately 8.5%. Withdrawal from the Flex Plan was instant. The Fixed Plan offers higher rates (up to 18.64% APR on select assets) but locks your funds for a set period.

Withdrawal: I withdrew €100 via SEPA — processed within 1 business day. Crypto withdrawal (USDT TRC-20) completed in approximately 8 minutes. The withdrawal fee was 1 USDT for TRC-20 — standard.

Interface: Clean, modern design with both light and dark themes. The terminal is customizable — you can reposition order books, charts, and trade panels. Mobile app mirrored the web experience accurately. Overall, the UI feels polished and professional, comparable to top-tier exchanges.

What Is WhiteBIT?

WhiteBIT is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. Founded in 2018 by Volodymyr Nosov, the platform originally started in Ukraine before relocating its headquarters to Lithuania to align with EU regulatory frameworks. WhiteBIT serves over 8 million registered users across 150+ countries and processes approximately $2.5 billion in daily trading volume, making it the largest European crypto exchange by website traffic, according to CryptoPotato and CoinPedia.

The exchange supports spot, margin, and futures trading across 340+ cryptocurrencies and 780+ trading pairs, with 204+ futures contracts and up to 100x leverage. WhiteBIT reached $2.7 trillion in annual trading volume in 2024, per CoinPedia.

WhiteBIT operates within the EU legal framework and holds regulatory licenses in Lithuania, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and other EU jurisdictions, as well as authorizations in Australia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Argentina, and Turkey, according to CryptoPotato and CryptoNews. The exchange is the first crypto exchange to achieve CCSS Level 3 certification (the highest standard for cryptocurrency security), holds PCI DSS certification, and earned an AAA (100%) security rating from CER.live — ranking among the top 3 most secure exchanges globally, per CoinBureau and TradingFinder.

WhiteBIT Group’s ecosystem extends beyond the exchange: Whitepay provides crypto payment processing for merchants, White.Market is a CS2 skins marketplace, Whitechain is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain, and the WhiteBIT Nova card integrates crypto spending with traditional banking. The exchange partners with FC Barcelona and FC Juventus as an official crypto exchange sponsor.

WhiteBIT is best suited for you if you are a European trader seeking a compliant, well-regulated exchange with low futures fees, strong security, and fiat on/off ramps in EUR, USD, and GBP. If you need the absolute lowest spot fees, the widest altcoin selection, or no-KYC trading, consider MEXC, Gate.io, or CoinEx instead.

WhiteBIT Key Features

Spot Trading

WhiteBIT supports 340+ cryptocurrencies across 780+ spot trading pairs. The selection includes all major assets (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, DOGE) plus a solid range of altcoins. While not as extensive as MEXC (2,700+) or Gate.io (1,700+), WhiteBIT’s catalog is larger than Binance (~600) for spot pairs and covers the vast majority of tokens active traders need.

The spot trading interface integrates TradingView for technical analysis, with advanced order types including limit, market, stop-market, stop-limit, stop-loss, and take-profit. An instant convert feature (no terminal required) lets beginners swap crypto without navigating the full trading interface.

During my testing, BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT liquidity was strong. Mid-cap altcoins had adequate liquidity for retail-sized orders. WhiteBIT’s volume ranks it among the top 10-15 exchanges globally on CoinGecko, which is solid for a European-focused platform.

Futures Trading

WhiteBIT offers 204+ perpetual futures contracts with up to 100x leverage. This is where WhiteBIT genuinely competes with the industry leaders — the 0.01% maker / 0.035% taker fee structure is among the lowest available:

Exchange Futures Maker Futures Taker
MEXC 0% 0.01%
WhiteBIT 0.01% 0.035%
Bybit 0.02% 0.055%
Binance 0.02% 0.05%
OKX 0.02% 0.05%
CoinEx 0.03% 0.05%

Source: FXEmpire, official fee schedules

For futures traders who prioritize low fees, WhiteBIT is a compelling alternative to the Asian-headquartered exchanges. The 0.01% maker fee saves significant money on high-volume trading. My 20x BTC/USDT test position confirmed the advertised rates.

Margin Trading

WhiteBIT supports margin trading with cross and isolated margin modes. Portfolio Margin (1-10x leverage) is available for institutional and professional traders. The daily margin funding rate is 0.0585%, per FXEmpire.

Earn Program (Crypto Lending)

WhiteBIT’s Earn program offers two options. The Flex Plan provides hourly earnings with instant withdrawal — APRs range from approximately 3-10% depending on the asset. The Fixed Plan offers higher rates (up to 18.64% APR) with locked funds for a set duration. Top assets for earning include BTC, SOL, XRP, and stablecoins like USDT.

During my test, USDT Flex Plan returned approximately 8.5% APR with hourly compounding. Withdrawal was instant. This is a solid passive income option for idle assets, though the rates are variable and not guaranteed.

WhiteBIT Coin (WBT)

WBT is WhiteBIT’s native utility token (capped supply: 400 million). Benefits include up to 100% trading fee discount when using WBT for commission payments, increased referral rates (up to 50%), and discounted margin funding rates, per CoinPedia and CoinBureau. WBT reached an all-time high of $28.74 in January 2025 with a market cap of approximately $4 billion, per CoinGecko data cited by CoinPedia.

Fiat On/Off Ramp

WhiteBIT supports 9 fiat currencies including EUR, USD, GBP, and UAH. Deposit methods include SEPA bank transfer (EUR), SWIFT, Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay, Volet, and Checkout. Fiat withdrawal options include bank card transfers and bank account withdrawals. This comprehensive fiat support is a strong advantage for European users who want seamless crypto-to-fiat conversion.

Fiat deposit fees range from 0.2% to 3.5% depending on the method. SEPA is typically the cheapest; card deposits carry higher fees (2-3.5%). Crypto deposits are free.

Whitechain & Web3 Ecosystem

WhiteBIT operates Whitechain, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed for decentralized applications. The WhiteBIT ecosystem also includes Whitepay (crypto payment processing for merchants, partnered with VISA), White.Market (CS2 skins marketplace), and the WhiteBIT Nova card for everyday crypto spending.

Launchpad

WhiteBIT’s Launchpad introduces new crypto projects to the ecosystem. Users can explore upcoming tokens, vote on listings, and gain early access before market launch. The Launchpad is managed via a partner company (Nova Fintech LLC, registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), per CryptoWinRate.

Mobile App

WhiteBIT’s mobile app (iOS/Android) has 1M+ downloads with an average rating above 4 stars. It mirrors desktop functionality including spot, futures, earn, deposits/withdrawals, and comprehensive security features (fingerprint, PIN, 2FA, anti-phishing, passkeys). During my test, the app loaded pages instantly and trading execution matched the web experience.

Institutional Services

WhiteBIT offers competitive institutional products: market-making programs with fees as low as 0.012% maker / 0.025% taker, Portfolio Margin, Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) allowing fintechs to launch crypto products in 4 weeks, token listing programs, collocation services, and a broker program, per CryptoPotato.

WhiteBIT Fees and Costs

Trading Fees

WhiteBIT uses a flat fee model at the base tier:

Product Maker Fee Taker Fee
Spot Trading 0.1% 0.1%
Perpetual Futures 0.01% 0.035%
Margin Trading Daily 0.0585% Daily 0.0585%

Source: FXEmpire, TradingFinder, CoinBureau

VIP tiers: Fees reduce based on 30-day trading volume and average balance. Market makers can access rates as low as 0.012% maker / 0.025% taker. WBT token holders receive additional discounts of up to 100% on trading commissions.

Real example from my test: I opened a $2,000 BTC/USDT futures position (20x leverage on $100 margin) using a limit order. My maker fee was $0.20 (0.01%). On Binance, the same trade would cost $0.40 (0.02%). On CoinEx, $0.60 (0.03%). Over 500 similar futures trades, WhiteBIT saves $100 vs Binance and $200 vs CoinEx.

Spot fees at 0.1% are industry-standard — identical to Binance and Bybit, but higher than MEXC (0% maker) or OKX (0.08% maker).

Deposit and Withdrawal Fees

Method Deposit Fee Withdrawal Fee
SEPA (EUR) 0.2% or free (varies) €1 or varies
Visa/Mastercard 2-3.5% Varies
Apple Pay 2-3.5% N/A
Crypto (e.g., USDT TRC-20) Free ~1 USDT
Crypto (e.g., BTC) Free ~0.0005 BTC

From my test: SEPA deposit was free for my transfer. Visa deposit cost 2.5% (€1.25 on €50). USDT TRC-20 withdrawal cost 1 USDT and processed in 8 minutes.

Bottom line on fees: WhiteBIT’s futures fees (0.01%/0.035%) are genuinely competitive — second only to MEXC (0%/0.01%) among exchanges we review. Spot fees are standard. The WBT token discount (up to 100%) can make WhiteBIT effectively free for spot trading if you hold sufficient WBT. Fiat deposit fees via card are high (2-3.5%) — always use SEPA for EUR deposits.

WhiteBIT Security and Safety

Zero Security Breaches

WhiteBIT has never experienced a major security breach since its 2018 launch, according to CryptoPotato, FXEmpire, and all reviewed sources. This places it alongside HashKey and Gate.io in the zero-breach category — a significant trust factor.

Security Certifications — Industry-Leading

WhiteBIT holds the most comprehensive set of security certifications among the exchanges we review:

CCSS Level 3: WhiteBIT was the first crypto exchange to achieve Cryptocurrency Security Standard Level 3 certification — the highest possible standard for cryptocurrency custody and key management, per CryptoPotato and CryptoNews.

PCI DSS: Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard certification — ensuring that all card payment processing meets global banking security standards, per CryptoNews.

ISO/IEC standards: Certified for information security management and data protection, per CryptoPotato.

CER.live AAA rating: Perfect 100% score — ranking WhiteBIT among the top 3 most secure exchanges globally, with excellence across server security, user security, penetration testing, and bug bounty programs, per TradingFinder, CoinBureau, and CryptoWinRate.

CertiK Skynet: Score of 82.28/100 (A rating) with high marks in Market (91.55) and Listing Security (89.14), per TradingFinder.

Hacken audits: Regular security audits by Hacken.io, which also awarded WhiteBIT the 2024 Security Award. Fireblocks partnership for institutional-grade custody, per CryptoNews.

Cold Storage and Fund Protection

WhiteBIT stores 96% of all user assets in cold wallets (multi-signature, offline storage), per CryptoNews and CoinBureau. Only approximately 4% is maintained in hot wallets for daily operations. The platform maintains a $30 million insurance fund to protect users from unforeseen losses, per CoinBureau and TradingFinder.

Additional security measures include Web Application Firewall (WAF) for DDoS and hacker attack prevention, automated risk assessment for continuous monitoring, address whitelisting (transactions only to verified addresses), anti-phishing codes, and an active bug bounty program with rewards up to $10,000, per FXEmpire.

Regulatory Compliance

WhiteBIT operates under the EU legal framework with licenses in Lithuania, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, and Bulgaria. Additional authorizations in Australia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Argentina, and Turkey. The exchange follows AML standards and the FATF Travel Rule, and provides an anti-money laundering tool allowing users to check wallet addresses for suspicious activity, per CryptoWinRate.

Transparency Gaps

Two notable gaps exist. First, WhiteBIT does not publish Proof of Reserves — a transparency standard adopted by Binance, MEXC, CoinEx, and others. While WhiteBIT’s security certifications are strong, the absence of PoR means users cannot independently verify that the exchange holds 1:1 reserves. Second, FXEmpire noted that WhiteBIT froze funds under investigation in 2024-2025 to block suspicious activity — while this indicates active compliance, it can be concerning for users who experience unexpected account restrictions.

WhiteBIT requires KYC for full access including fiat deposits and trading. Submit a government-issued ID (passport or national ID) and a selfie. In my test, verification completed in approximately 10 minutes.

Who Should Use WhiteBIT?

Best For

WhiteBIT is ideal for you if you are a European trader who values EU regulatory compliance and direct EUR/USD/GBP fiat on-ramps via SEPA and card. If you are a futures trader focused on minimizing fees, WhiteBIT’s 0.01% maker fee is among the lowest available — second only to MEXC. If you want to earn passive income on idle crypto, the Earn program (up to 18.64% APR) with instant Flex Plan withdrawals is competitive. If security is your top priority, WhiteBIT’s zero-breach record, AAA CER.live rating, CCSS Level 3, and $30M insurance fund make it one of the most secure exchanges available. If you are an institutional trader or fintech company, WhiteBIT’s CaaS, collocation, and broker programs offer enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Not Ideal For

WhiteBIT is not the best choice if you need the widest altcoin selection — 340+ coins falls short of MEXC (2,700+), Gate.io (1,700+), or CoinEx (1,300+). If you want copy trading, WhiteBIT does not offer it — try BingX or Bitget. If you need crypto options, WhiteBIT does not offer options trading — Deribit is the leader. If you trade from the US, WhiteBIT is restricted. If Proof of Reserves matters to you, WhiteBIT’s absence of PoR is a notable transparency gap — Binance, MEXC, and CoinEx all publish PoR. If you want no-KYC trading, WhiteBIT requires mandatory verification — CoinEx allows $10K/day without KYC. If you need built-in trading bots or advanced order types (GTC, trailing stop), WhiteBIT’s toolset is limited compared to OKX or Bybit.

WhiteBIT Exchange Review — Final Verdict

Overall Rating: 4.2/5 (7.8/10)

WhiteBIT has built a genuinely strong position as Europe’s largest crypto exchange by traffic, and the platform’s security credentials are among the best in the industry. The combination of AAA CER.live rating, CCSS Level 3 certification, zero breaches, EU multi-jurisdiction licenses, and $30M insurance fund creates a security profile that rivals or exceeds much larger exchanges.

From my hands-on testing, WhiteBIT delivers a polished experience. The futures fees (0.01% maker) are exceptionally low and verified in practice. The Earn program provides competitive yields with flexible withdrawal options. The fiat on-ramp via SEPA is seamless for European users. The interface is professional and customizable.

The trade-offs center around product breadth and transparency. No copy trading, no options, no trading bots, and only 340+ coins limit WhiteBIT’s appeal for traders who want everything in one place. The absence of Proof of Reserves is a real concern in the post-FTX era, even with strong security certifications. And the restricted jurisdiction list means WhiteBIT isn’t accessible to many global users.

If you are a European futures trader who wants low fees, strong security, and regulatory compliance, WhiteBIT is an excellent choice. If you need a full-service global exchange with the widest product range, Binance, Bybit, or OKX remain the default recommendations.
